Job Description

A well-established company in the construction and infrastructure industry in Garden City, NY, is seeking a detail-oriented HR & Payroll Administrative Assistant for an immediate temporary opportunity. This position will provide essential administrative support to the Human Resources and Payroll departments, with a focus on new hire data entry and union dues administration. The ideal candidate has prior experience working with union-related processes and is comfortable handling clerical tasks in a fast-paced office environment.

Responsibilities:

• Enter new hire information into internal HR and payroll systems.
• Assist with the processing and administration of union dues.
• Provide general administrative and clerical support to the HR and Payroll departments.
• Maintain accurate employee records and documentation.
• Assist with day-to-day administrative tasks to support departmental operations.

Qualifications:

• Previous experience in an HR, payroll, or administrative support role preferred.
• Prior union experience required , including familiarity with union dues or related processes.
• Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
• Comfortable with data entry and handling confidential employee information.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office and general computer systems.
• Ability to work independently and provide support in a fast-paced environment.

Additional Details:

• Immediate start preferred.
• Temporary assignment with the potential to transition into a permanent position.
• Compensation of $24–$28 per hour, depending on experience.
